Cumberland boasts a number of lovely backdrops for an exquisite ceremony. With spectacular views of the Pamunkey River, a rose garden setting, and the dramatic facade of Cumberland House, the plantation affords spectacular options.
Our Carriage House offers an elegant space of 3400 square feet to accommodate a variety of seating plans for your reception. When utilizing both floors of the Carriage House, we can accommodate 21 sixty-inch round tables, seating 8 guests per table. This site provides the ability to install tenting measuring up to 60’X90′ against the building to accommodate larger parties. Whether it’s an intimate affair you want or a bigger gathering of family and friends, Cumberland Plantation suits your event.
Located on the ground floor gallery of Cumberland House, our formal dining room provides a superb setting for an unforgettable, candlelight dinner atmosphere. Our custom made mahogany table comfortably seats 24 guests with additional seating options available for larger parties. You and your wedding party will find yourselves surrounded by 350 year old original brick and stone work, and artifacts detailing the long history of our plantation. Whether your wedding is held on site or at another facility, Cumberland Plantation has exceptional accommodations for a memorable rehearsal dinner. If your wedding party is large, the Carriage House is the ideal spot to house a large group. If your party is tailored toward a small and exclusive group, the main floor gallery inside the house could provide an unforgettable, dazzling ambiance.
Cumberland Plantation offers a Honeymoon suite fit for a king and queen. The bride and groom will fall into the lap of luxury with a chamber that features a handcrafted, mahogany, pencil post bed.
